This Friday at Nomads Capital’s hostel bar Blend we’re bringing out the Latin Party… Brazilian Style. On a side note, if you missed our Rock n Roll party, well… you shouldn’t have… but if you did you missed out on a great time! We had a great rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody and some really awesome face paint & wigs. Just check out Nomads Capital’s crazies and you’ll see for yourself what you’ve missed.

Last week at Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel we said good bye to two of our fav’s. Gavin, our super fantastic Night Auditor, and Déborah the best kitchen WFA and fill in cook we’ve ever had. On their last night Déborah managed to break a light fixture not 30 seconds after walking into the bar, and then while doing Blend Bar’s infamous Jägermeister Shot Ski (provide by our other fantastic Night Auditor Jo) she managed to drop and shatter the shot glass. Maybe 30 minutes after that she got really excited by, well I’m not sure what but you know those French ladies and talking with their hands. Well she managed to fling a drink out of someone else’s hand and smash that one too. Words of wisdom from yours truly… Gavin don’t let Déborah near any more glass items. Oh and Déborah don’t let Gavin near your wardrobe, we know how he likes to dress up. I already miss them and I’m sure everyone else at Nomads Capital Backpackers in Wellington does too.

And we can’t forget the other wicked Nomads Capital staff members and regulars that have left us in the past month. In this photo all but one (Marian) have left us… to go wander the world and try new things. From all of us at Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel good luck and have fun!

We at Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel in Wellington are getting our Mullet wigs and leather pants ready for the Rock n Roll party this Friday night (28 November) at Blend Bar. I’ve dusted off the leopard print tights and have been rocking out to my favourite “Hair Bands” in preparation for a night that is to be truly fantastic! Best Costume wins a FREE Stray Travel Pass

Our Latin Party at Nomads Capital’s hostel bar Blend last Friday night went long and loud. We got more noise complaints than we ever have and frankly I’m quite proud of that. Even the non Latin folk came out for the fun.

People were partying into the wee hours of the night in the bar, and then dancing in the streets long after that. A great party was had by all. We found Lenny in the Lounge at Nomads Capital Backpackers the morning like this.

At Nomads Capital Backpackers in Wellington we held our very first Tattoo Contest. Some of the exciting entries we received can be seen below. We had some very little entries right up to large ones. The grand prize winner was Melissa Cameron from Canada with her Willow Tree tribute to her Grandma. Melissa won a free nights backpacker accommodation in Wellington at Nomads Capital.

… But I did get some great shots at Nomads Capital’s Hostel Bar, Blend. The Jaeger Train was in full force at Blend Bar. We lined them all up and we were just hoping the domino effect would work all the way down.  

The good news is that it did. The bad news is that there wasn’t any left for me after all the crazy backpackers we’ve got staying at Nomads Capital Hostel got to them. No matter, there’s always the shotski! You and three of the new best mates you’ve just met at Nomads Capital Backpackers can try one of these for just $20. It’s good times bro!

Nomads Capital Backpackers and Staff were all in Blend Bar on Saturday night so I hope you got all dressed up in your best black outfit, headed on down to Nomads Capital Hostel Bar Blend and cheered on the mighty All Blacks for their fabulous victory over the Wallabies! I know I certainly did.

I may not know much about rugby but those boys kick some serious butt, we just won’t talk about the World Cup because we’ve won the Tri-Nations… AGAIN! Maybe all of that throat slitting in the Haka was just too much intimidation.

Well if you weren’t supporting the boys on Saturday with our Wellington Backpackers, I hope you made it out to Nomads Capital Backpackers Bar Blend on Friday night, cause if you didn’t you missed one hell of a party that went well into the wee hours of the morning!

But on the bright side we’ve just added two fantastic new staff members, to Nomads Capital Wellington Siobhan & Jo!  

Siobhan’s only been in Wellington for 2 weeks and comes to us from a stint in Australia. She’ll be doing day shifts at Nomads Capital Backpackers so if you’re around town come say hi!

They’ll be rounding off our already superliscious staff! So come on down say Ciao to Tom and give a High Five to Jo & Siobhan!
