MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It sure was a merry christmas. For me personally my first bloody hot christmas. For all the backpackers staying at Nomads Industry in Melbourne we organized a christmas lunch on the 25th. At least 80 people attended the lunch and had a great party lunch. With loads of food and the BBQ on fire it was a christmas to never forget. Backpacking, broke, no plans for New Year’s?  Never fear, help is at hand.  The Fat Camel Backpacking Hostel and Bar and Fusion Backpacking Hostel and Bar are teaming up to give you an unforgettable New Year’s Eve.

Kick off the night with happy hour drinks in the Fat Camel Bar from 5pm with all house drinks at the rock bottom price of $4.  Once 2009 starts to loom towards us we will move the party up to Fusion.

If you thought Auckland was a beautiful city at night wait till you see it covered in the glow of New Year’s Eve fireworks.  Fusion’s rooftop party will provide the perfect viewing spot and with $5 pints all night you can’t go wrong.

Fusion’s rooftop party is open to all Fat Camel and Fusion guests and not only that but DJ’s are set to rock Fusion’s main club all night as well.

Thought you didn’t have any New Year’s Eve plans?  Think again.

When you’re backpacking one of the only thorns in your side is the occasional bout of homesickness (don’t worry having a few drinks usually clears it up) this happens particularly around Christmas and New Year.  Nomads Fat Camel Backpackers Hostel and Bar has come up with a solution to this troublesome problem.

Tonight we are going to take a video of any Auckland backpacker that is feeling a bit homesick or more than likely any backpacker that is being Trans-Pacifically harassed by phone calls from home.  We will load these Christmas greetings onto Nomads YouTube Channel and you can send all your loved ones the link.

Not only do your friends and family get a chance to see that you’re still alive you can also try and pawn this video off as a Christmas present, two birds with one stone, I think so.  Come down to the Fat Camel Backpackers Bar tonight to wrap the cheapest present you nearly never bought.

All the backpackers and staff at Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel in Wellington were very sad to see Cameron leave Blend Backpackers Bar! Blend Bar is situated right next door to the hostel in central Wellington and Cameron was it’s Manager, and a damn good one at that!

We know that we can keep his legacy going here at Blend but Cameron we’re going to miss you.

Never fear though, he’s not gone too far… He’s moved up to Auckland and he’ll be helping to run our two bars up there. Nomads Fat Camel Backpackers Bar and the Bar at Nomads Fusion Backpackers, both situated on Fort Street in central Auckland!

On Christmas Day get stuffed with our traditional Christmas dinner, meat and all the trimmings just like you are used to.  Don’t worry we are all backpackers and staying in budget accommodation so we won’t be dry for the Christmas period.

Boxing day we will have our Kiwi Christmas, all you need is a ticket, a pair of jandals and a Santa hat.  The plan is simple, bus to the beach, couple of beach sports and then top it off with classic fish & chips, experience Christmas the Kiwi way.
