Nomads Maze Backpackers Sydney - WE’RE BACK BABY!!

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

The old Entertainment Managers reunite at one of the “HOTTEST” nights that Maze Backpackers Hostel Sydney has to offer!!

It was all about the entertainment guys on friday night at this Nomads Hostel…… with the old entertainment guy, Paul MacNamara,  returning to his long lost friend and partner in crime Matthew Polowyk (entertainment manager) of Nomads Westend Backpackers Hostel!!

The friendly staff and backpackers of Sydney Youth Hostels The Maze and Nomads Westend also happened to be celebrating the 4th of July…. although some of the backpackers happened to be doing it in their own ’special’ ways.

Toga seemed to be the main theme at the youth hostels on Pitt Street with many of the backpackers adorning their bedsheets and strutting from the hostel, heads held high following Paul and Matt who were dressed rather less respectably than the rest of the Nomads Hostel backpackers…

With Matt, the Nomads Westend Backpackers Hostel entertainer flaunting himself dressed as the naked cowboy, who runs around New York City with just a guitar, and Paul The Maze backpackers hostels entertainer mixing it up as a white Apollo Creed(Rocky 1, 2 + 3) FACT!!

The night was a fantastic party although it was just a warm up for the upcoming spandex party…!! Organised by these two Sydney Backpackers Hostels and to be held at Scubar!! Its all about the spandex baby!!!

This weekend again was a busy one for Nomads Capital backpackers hostel in Wellington with the first tri-nations rugby test being played at Wellingtons famous ‘Cake Tin’ between New Zealand and South Africa.

In true Wellington test rugby style the weather turned southerly and cold right on kick off. Meaning a cold but exciting time had by many Nomads Capital Wellington backpackers who went to the game. And naturally the AB’s won making it an even better night.

Cowboys and Indians INVADE Sydney Backpackers Hostel!!!!

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

The Nomads Backpackers Hostels on Pitt Street in Sydney always deliver the most entertaining and enjoyable nights out around the city!! With Maze Hostel being one of the cheapest hostels in Sydney, it still gives more free stuff than anywhere else!!

And because we’re such a community here, when one of our staff members leave, its PARTY TIME!! Even though our beloved entetrtainment guy left, he still managed to throw an awesome party, involving no less than 60 people all dressed as cowboys and indians, but with a few stragglers such as ’superwomen’ and the ‘Riddler’ but they were more than welcomed!!

Maze Backpackers Hostel started by giving away FREE goon!! (the backpackers stable diet -(also contains milk, eggs and fish!!) - with the music pumping, this Sydney Youth Hostel was in full swing and started to attract more guests!  So what started as a kind of leaving party, turned into a giant mob of people, all singing and dancing on our way to Side Bar with the crowd of ’superheros’ leading the way!!

Live music at Side Bar really helped the guys from the cheapest backpackers hostel in Sydney have a great night, with the night being made even better by the MAZE TEAM who organised and looked after everyone, but the main praise for the night going so well should be given to the fact that at Maze Backpackers Hostel Sydney we give FREE goon and of course, 2 for 1 drinks!!!!

Beach Walk in the middle of Winter? Are you MAD??

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Here at Legend has it Westend we have a wide range of free activities!!! The Bondi to Coogee beach walk is said to be one of the top ten things to do while in Sydney! It is a fun filled, action packed, two hour guided tour, by two of the most knowledgable guides in Sydney! The Sun was shining there were no clouds in the sky… It was a beautiful winters day and some would say it was a perfect day for the beach walk and we couldn’t have agreed more. The tide was the highest it has been in months and the waves all along the coast were massive.  It is whale migrating season and the largest pod of whales is close to Sydneys shores… no whales has been sighted yet but we are keeping our hopes high…

There are many fun facts and interesting stories along the way which include the famous John Durkin (better known as the “hobo” on the rocks), suicide point, Clovelley Bowling Club, and the old light house! With stops along the way at Bronte beach it is not an ardous walk and a great time is had by everyone.

Westend vs. Maze Sunday Football Friendly

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

It was a glorious Sunday in Sydney and the perfect setting for the much anticipated football match between Legend Has it Westend and the Maze!!! Two rival Nomads hostels that are located right across the streetfrom one another. There was lots of anticipation for the  game as over 80 people turned out for the match. The Maze has been doing training sessions for the past few weeks and were definitely the better side with a surprising blow out.

Westend was out matched but not out classed. The results of the game was not in Westends favour but it was a hard fought game. The game featured many injuries which included no less then 3 broken fingers and a chipped knee. It was definitely a battle on the field and Westend is determined to start some training sessions and get ready for the next match.

With the Man of the Match Award going to Ruairi, and  with the final presentation of the Triangle Trophy to the Maze.  The cards have been dealt for some great test matches in the following comming weeks. So if you are good at football, Westend can use a couple of ringers.

The after party was held at the Gaff party bar and nightclub. It was a great night at the Gaff which featured $8 jugs all night long, Rob Henry on acoustic guitar, the famous Gaff  quiz, and a free roast dinner to top it all off. It was a great day on the field and a great night having a few drinks with the opponents. So football fans make your way down to Sydney to be part of this heated rivalry on the pitch. Just make sure you stay at Westend as we have never beaten the Maze and can use your help. CHEERS
