Maze Backpacker Staff go Mad in Byron Bay!
It was the weekend just gone, before World Youth Week and at this Sydney Backpackers Hostel our GLORIOUS bosses at the centrally located Nomads Maze Youth Hostel decided to give a few of the hostel staff a long weekend holiday…!! (piss up!)
So the day started with Zorbing, to refresh us after the “most comfortable coach travel that money can buy” LOL… It seems that the management at our Sydney Backpackers don’t want to fork out the money to fly me and my colleagues 1st class!!!
We organised our trip with the help of our knowledgable colleagues at the Maze Backpackers reception and travel desk (we won’t ever recommend something we haven’t done ourselves, so you can be assured of great advice).
Well the Zorbing went down a storm, as you can see from the pictures courtesy of this youth hostel staff members camera, which (luckily) happens to be waterproof…. (thank god or it would have cost me a years wages!) we even managed to make a video of the Zorb from the inside which looks absolutely amazing.

Really good value for money and really good fun and definitely worth the coach trip from our Sydney Backpackers Hostel.
What made the trip for me personally, was the next trip that the generous Maze Backpackers Hostel and Nomads Westend Backpackers Hostel (situated across the road from us in central Sydney) kindly organised for myself, two of our cleaners and one of the receptionists!
- The place to stay, by the way, is The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge (Byron Bay). It’s a fantastic place set in 5 acres of subtropical “jungle”, with a range of accommodation from Island Bungalows, teepees, dorms or private rooms!

To find out more about our trip, which included a visit to world famous Nimbin, just pop into any one of our Nomads Hostels like ours - Nomads Maze Backpackers Hostel, central Sydney, rated “one of the Best Hostels in Australia” by ‘Pool Shark’ Richard Roper.
