Look forward to the Buddha Bar being finished for Sept. 1  and renovations completed. Then The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge in Byron Bay will really crank.

Spandex Party at Sydney Nomads Hostels

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Well hello extremely loyal readers… We felt as though our Sydney Backpackers were getting bored, so youth hostel staff at Nomads Maze Backpackers Hostel and Nomads Westend Backpackers Hostel decided to throw a Spandex party…

The posters were all over Nomads Maze Hostel and read, SPANDEX PARTY FRIDAY NIGHT - Free Wine for an hour at 8pm and two for one drinks at the bar! The tighter and brighter, the better! SPANDEX- THE ART OF LOOKING GOOD WHILST WEARING THE TIGHTEST CLOTHES POSSIBLE!!

So we were fairly merry, to say the least, especially as The Maze Backpackers drank 45 litres!!!! Here are some of the most ridiculous pictures from the night, and i think you’ll find that the pictures tell their own story!!!

Huge Weekend in store at Nomads Fat Camel Backpackers Hostel, Auckland

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

This weekend is shaping up to be the biggest yet at Nomads Fat Camel Backpackers Hostel and Bar. It  all begins on Friday night when the youth hostel says goodbye to Rebecca, who has been The Fat Camel Backpackers Hostel reception supervisor for the last year, but who worked here for 3 years before that!!

All the backpackers and the hostel staff wish you all the best in whatever you do Rebecca!

We’ll also be saying goodbye to Emz from Magic who’s been coming in to see The Fat Camel hostel staff for the last 2 years.

Then it’s Saturday and the much anticipated game between The All Blacks and The Wallabies at Eden Park in Auckland. Although we’ve sold all of our tickets to go and watch the game in person, we will still be showing the Big Game on the Big Screen in our Auckland Backpackers Bar!

When the game is over we’re hoping we’ll be celebrating a Kiwi win at our after-party, but even if we lose we’re going to party like there’s no tomorrow anyway!

On Sunday we’ll be opening our central Auckland bar a little earlier than usual - midday! And then from 2pm we’ll have live music from Zoh Zoh, a traditional African drumming and dance band. This is sure to be an afternoon never to be forgotten, so make sure you come along to experience it!

Don’t worry, the rest of this week still has all the usual activities happening in the bar and Happy Hour every night between 5pm and 7pm!

World Youth Day at Melbourne Backpackers

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Nomads Industry Backpackers Hostel in Melbourne welcomed pilgrims from all over the globe recently for the Days in the Dioceses, a festival of faith celebrated in the week prior to World Youth Day in Sydney.

Our Melbourne Backpackers Hostel came alive as the groups from Puerto Rico, Brazil and Venezuela flooded our youth hostel bringing with them the infectious spirit of Latin America.

The visitors, old and young alike fully immersed themselves into hostel life joining in the nightly shenanigans at Industry Bar and Lounge, busting out the Latin moves on the dance floor and challenging the limbo champion on games night.

Nomads Industry was delighted to be host to such a vibrant group of people and wish them the very best in the rest of their travels.
