The Irish Invade Wellington Backpackers Hostel

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

This weekend the All Blacks were in town for a friendly against Ireland. It was a busy weekend here at Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel with the youth hostel full up with over half of the backpackers being Irish rugby team supporters.

This meant Nomads Capital Backpackers Hostel was filled with green and singing and the recycling bin was filled with empties!

Not even the rain or the icy winds or that Ireland was defeated 21-11 could dampen anyone’s party moods with the Wellington Backpackers partying long into the night.

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge in Byron Bay has some fantastic artwork on the walls. Check some of it out here…

The Arts Factory Lodge has often had backpackers staying at the Byron Bay youth hostel who have asked “Hey can I paint that wall or can I contribute in some way, just for the fun of it!”

You can see some of the Byron Bay Backpackers work here, some of these guys are super talented and we have been blessed to have ther work on the Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge walls.
